[14.14] And most certainly We will settle you in the
land after them; this is for him who fears standing in My presence and who fears
My threat.
[14.15] And they asked for judgment and every insolent opposer was
disappointed:
[14.16] Hell is before him and he shall be given to drink of festering
water:
[14.17] He will drink it little by little and will not be able to swallow
it agreeably, and death will come to him from every quarter, but he shall not
die; and there shall be vehement chastisement before him.
[16.106] He who disbelieves in Allah after his having believed, not he who is compelled while his heart is at rest on account of faith, but he who opens (his) breast to disbelief-- on these is the wrath of Allah, and they shall have a grievous chastisement.
[17.8] …We have made hell a prison for the unbelievers.
[17.10] (as for) those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have prepared for them a painful chastisement.
[18.106] Thus it is that their recompense is hell,
because they disbelieved and held My communications and My apostles in mockery.
[21.1] Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are
they turning aside.
22.1] O people! guard against (the punishment from) your Lord; surely the violence of the hour is a grievous thing.
[22.19] These are two adversaries who dispute about
their Lord; then (as to) those who disbelieve, for them are cut out garments of
fire, boiling water shall be poured over their heads.
[22.20] With it shall be melted what is in their bellies and (their)
skins as well.
[22.21] And for them are whips of iron.
[22.22] Whenever they will desire to go forth from it, from grief, they
shall be turned back into it, and taste the chastisement of burning.
22.51] And (as for) those who strive to oppose Our communications, they shall be the inmates of the flaming fire.
22.57] And (as for) those who disbelieve in and reject Our communications, these it is who shall have a disgraceful chastisement.
[18.29] And say: The truth is from your Lord, so let him who please believe, and let him who please disbelieve; surely We have prepared for the iniquitous a fire, the curtains of which shall encompass them about; and if they cry for water, they shall be given water like molten brass which will scald their faces; evil the drink and ill the resting-place.
[18.100] And We will bring forth hell, exposed to view, on that day before the unbelievers.
[27.4] As to those who do not believe in the
hereafter, We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, but they
blindly wander on.
[27.5] These are they who shall have an evil punishment, and in the
hereafter they shall be the greatest losers.
[13.5] … These are they who disbelieve in their Lord, and these have chains on their necks, and they are the inmates of the fire; in it they shall abide.
[29.23] And (as to) those who disbelieve in the
communications of Allah and His meeting, they have despaired of My mercy, and
these it is that shall have a painful punishment.
32.20] And as for those who transgress, their abode
is the fire; whenever they desire to go forth from it they shall be brought back
into it, and it will be said to them: Taste the chastisement of the fire which
you called a lie.
37.64] Surely
it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell;
[37.65] Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents.
[37.66] Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies
with it.
[37.67] Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture
prepared in boiling water.
[37.68] Then most surely their return shall be to hell.
[39.4] ... He is Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all).
[39.71] And those who disbelieve
shall be driven to hell in companies; until, when they come to it, its doors
shall be opened, and the keepers of it shall say to them: Did not there come to
you apostles from among you reciting to you the communications of your Lord and
warning you of the meeting of this day of yours? They shall say: Yea! But the
sentence of punishment was due against the unbelievers.
[39.72] It shall be said: Enter the gates of hell to abide therein; so
evil is the abode of the proud.
[40.70] Those who reject the Book and
that with which We have sent Our Apostle; but they shall soon come to know,
[40.71] When the fetters and the chains shall be on their necks; they
shall be dragged
[40.72] Into boiling water, then in the fire shall they be burned;
[40.76] Enter the gates of hell to
abide therein, evil then is the abode of the proud.
[40.83] Then when their apostles came to
them with clear arguments, they exulted in what they had with them of knowledge,
and there beset them that which they used to mock.
[40.84] But when they saw Our punishment, they said: We believe in Allah alone
and we deny what we used to associate with Him.
[40.85] But their belief was not going to profit them when they had seen Our
punishment; (this is) Allah's law, which has indeed obtained in the matter of
His servants, and there the unbelievers are lost.
[42.16] And (as for) those who dispute about Allah after
that obedience has been rendered to Him, their plea is null with their Lord, and
upon them is wrath, and for them is severe punishment
[42.35] And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them.
[44.43] Surely the tree of the Zaqqum,
[44.44] Is the food of the sinful
[44.45] Like dregs of oil; it shall boil in (their) bellies,
[44.46] Like the boiling of hot water.
[44.47] Seize him, then drag him down into the middle of the hell;
[44.48] Then pour above his head of the torment of the boiling water:
[45.7] Woe to every sinful liar,
[45.8] Who hears the communications of Allah recited to him, then
persists proudly as though he had not heard them; so announce to him a painful
punishment.
[45.9] And when he comes to know of any of Our communications, he takes
it for a jest; these it is that shall have abasing chastisement.
[45.10] Before them is hell, and there shall not avail them aught of what
they earned, nor those whom they took for guardians besides Allah, and they
shall have a grievous punishment.
[45.11] This is guidance; and (as for) those who disbelieve in the
communications of their Lord, they shall have a painful punishment on account of
uncleanness.
[45.33] And the
evil (consequences) of what they did (not believing) shall become manifest to
them and that which they mocked shall encompass them.
[45.34] And it shall be said: Today We forsake you as you neglected the
meeting of this day of yours and your abode is the fire, and there are not for
you any helpers:
[45.35] That is because you took the communications of Allah for a jest
and the life of this world deceived you. So on that day they shall not be
brought forth from it, nor shall they be granted goodwill.
[46.20] And on the day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before
the fire: You did away with your good things in your life of the world and you
enjoyed them for a while, so today you shall be rewarded with the punishment of
abasement because you were unjustly proud in the land and because you
transgressed.
[46.34] And on the day when those who disbelieve shall be brought before the fire: Is it not true? They shall say: Aye! by our Lord! He will say: Then taste the punishment, because you disbelieved.
[47.1] (As for) those who disbelieve
and turn away from Allah's way, He shall render their works ineffective.
[47.15] A parable of the garden which
those guarding (against evil) are promised: Therein are rivers of water that
does not alter, and rivers of milk the taste whereof does not change, and rivers
of drink delicious to those who drink, and rivers of honey clarified and for
them therein are all fruits and protection from their Lord. (Are these) like
those who abide in the fire and who are made to drink boiling water so it rends
their bowels asunder.
[47.27] But how will it be when the angels cause them to
die smiting their backs.
[47.34] Surely those who disbelieve
and turn away from Allah's way, then they die while they are unbelievers, Allah
will by no means forgive them.
[48.6] And (that) He may punish the hypocritical men and
the hypocritical women, and the polytheistic men and the polytheistic women, the
entertainers of evil thoughts about Allah. On them is the evil turn, and Allah
is wroth with them and has cursed them and prepared hell for them, and evil is
the resort.
[48.13] And whoever does not believe
in Allah and His Apostle, then surely We have prepared burning fire for the
unbelievers.
[49.18] Surely Allah knows the unseen things of the
heavens and the earth; and Allah sees what you do.
[56.41] And those of the left hand,
how wretched are those of the left hand!
[56.42] In hot wind and boiling water,
[56.43] And the shade of black smoke,
[56.44] Neither cool nor honorable.
[56.45] Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty.
[56.46] And they persisted in the great violation.
[56.47] And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and
bones, shall we then indeed be raised?
[56.48] Or our fathers of yore?
[56.49] Say: The first and the last, SO. Shall most surely be gathered
together for the appointed hour of a known day.
[56.51] Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie!
[56.52] Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom,
[56.53] And fill (your) bellies with it;
[56.54] Then drink over it of boiling water;
[56.55] And drink as drinks the thirsty camel.
[56.56] This is their entertainment on the day of requital....
[56.93] He shall have an entertainment of boiling water,
[56.94] And burning in hell.
[56.95] Most surely this is a certain truth.
[56.96] Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great.
[57.13] On the day when the
hypocritical men and the hypocritical women will say to those who believe: Wait
for us, that we may have light from your light; it shall be said: Turn back and
seek a light. Then separation would be brought about between them, with a wall
having a door in it; (as for) the inside of it, there shall be mercy in it, and
(as for) the outside of it, before it there shall be punishment.
[57.14] They will cry out to them: Were we not with you? They shall say:
Yea! but you caused yourselves to fall into temptation, and you waited and
doubted, and vain desires deceived you till the threatened punishment of Allah
came, while the archdeceiver deceived you about Allah.
[57.15] So today ransom shall not be accepted from you nor from those who
disbelieved; your abode is the fire; it is your friend and evil is the resort.
[57.19] And (as for) those who
believe in Allah and His apostles, these it is that are the truthful and the
faithful ones in the sight of their Lord: they shall have their reward and their
light, and (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, these
are the inmates of the hell.
[64.10] And (as for) those who disbelieve and reject Our communications, they are the inmates of the fire, to abide therein and evil is the resort.
[67.6] And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of
hell, and evil is the resort.
[67.7] When they shall be cast therein, they shall hear a
loud moaning of it as it heaves,
[67.8] Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its
keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner?
[67.9] They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we
rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a
great error.
[67.10] And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should
not have been among the inmates of the burning fire.
[67.11] So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be
(forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire.
Note, in the following text the man who had the Koran in
his right hand must have been a believer the one who had it in his left hand
must have been a non-believer.
[69.13] And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast,
[69.14] And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a
single crushing.
[69.15] On that day shall the great event come to pass,
[69.16] And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall
be frail,
[69.17] And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above ) I them
eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power.
[69.18] On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours
shall remain hidden.
[69.19] Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will
say: Lo! read my book:
[69.20] Surely I knew that I shall meet my account.
[69.21] So he shall be in a life of pleasure,
[69.22] In a lofty garden,
[69.23] The fruits of which are near at hand:
[69.24] Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days
gone by.
[69.25] And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall
say: O would that my book had never been given me:
[69.26] And I had not known what my account was:
[69.27] O would that it had made an end (of me):
[69.28] My wealth has availed me nothing:
[69.29] My authority is gone away from me.
[69.30] Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him,
[69.31] Then cast him into the burning fire,
[69.32] Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy
cubits.
[69.33] Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great,
[69.34] Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor.
[69.35] Therefore he has not here today a true friend,
[69.36] Nor any food except refuse,
[69.37] Which none but the wrongdoers eat.
Notice the strange part of where commands are given to "Lay hold on him, then
put a chain on him, then cast him into the burning fire" and so on. One
would expect the text to say instead and a chain will be put on him and he shall
be cast in the burning fire and then a chain length of seventy cubits will be
thrust into him." I don't know how to explain this, if someone does please

[73.11] And
leave Me and the rejecters, the possessors of ease and plenty, and respite them
a little.
[73.12] Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire,
[73.13] And food that chokes and a painful punishment,
[76.4] Surely We have prepared for
the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire.
[78.21] Surely hell lies in wait,
[78.22] A place of resort for the inordinate,
[78.23] Living therein for ages.
[78.24] They shall not taste therein cool nor drink
[78.25] But boiling and intensely cold water,
[78.40] Surely We have warned you of
a chastisement near at hand: the day when man shall see what his two hands have
sent before, and the unbeliever shall say: O! would that I were dust!
