Don Feder wrote an excellent article about the totalitarian nature of China.
Anthony Codevilla's article which appeared in the Washington Times, discusses the appeasement policies of the Clinton administration and the disastrous consequences of those policies. The books
In fact, in a move that has entrenched significant danger for years to come, the Clinton Administration – as part of a misplaced gesture of trust toward the Chinese and Russians – ended efforts by our military to protect command and control systems from electromagnetic shock weapons. These weapons can bring down systems and physically destroy them, the ultimate cyberwarfare nightmare.
Documents declassified after Clinton left office show that he “personally approved the transfer to China of advanced space technology that can be used for nuclear combat.” ("In all likelihood we will be glowing in the dark before we discover the true extent of the Clinton decade of betrayal," stated Rick Fisher, Asian Security Fellow at the Center for Security Policy.)
Colonels Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui wrote a Chinese military manual titled
Whether it be the intrusions of hackers, a major explosion at the World Trade Center, or a bombing attack by bin Laden, all of these greatly exceed the frequency bandwidths understood by the American military...
The book is chock full of plans and strategies, from using computers, to smuggling illegal immigrants, to manipulating the stock markets, to influencing the U.S. media, to using weapons of mass destruction all to destroy America. Michelle Malkin wrote a book called Invasion, How America Still Welcomes Terrorists, Criminals and Other Foreign Menaces to Our Shores in which she mentioned the alarming influx of illegal Chinese across the southern borders of the United States even a year after 9/11. Recent press reports indicate that China has assisted and continues to assist militarily and economically the Taliban and al-Qaeda even after Sept. 11.
According to a report in geostrategy-direct.com 7/15/03:
The United States has determined that China and North Korea are coordinating efforts to advance Iran's missile and weapons of mass destruction programs. The intelligence community has concluded that China and North Korea have cooperated to produce and deliver components for missile and WMD programs to a number of Middle East clients. China, which last year announced export controls on military and dual-use technologies, produced the components and exported them through North Korea to avoid U.S. sanctions, sources said.
According to WorldnetDaily ('Smart Bomb Technology Moving To China'8/12/03), Leitner,a senior strategic-trade adviser to the DoD, said:
The Chinese are clearly trying to monopolize the world supply of rare-earth materials such as neodymium that are essential to the production of the militarily critical magnets that enable precise guidance and control of our most advanced weapons and aircraft," adding that "rare-earth magnets lie at the heart of many of our most advanced weapons systems, particularly rockets, missiles and precision-guided weapons such as smart bombs and cruise missiles.
By controlling the access to the magnets and the raw materials they are composed of, U.S. industry in general and the auto industry in particular can be held hostage to PRC blackmail and extortion in an effort to manipulate our foreign and military policy," Leitner said. "This highly concentrated control one country, one government will be the sole source of something critical to the U.S. military and industrial base.
Worldnetdaily proved right. In an argument over Japanese territorial waters the Chinese threatened to withhold the rare earth metals the Japanese needed for manufacturing.
Perhaps the most dangerous threat to the United States is Jihadi terrorists with weapons of mass destruction and Iran is a country run by Jihadis whose leader Ahmadinejad talks about a world without America and the Mahdi. Iranians believe they can bring about the coming of the Mahdi by starting wars. China and Russia have blocked attempts by the U.S. to impose sanctions on Iran. In addition Russia sells weapons to Iran and China and China sells them to the Iranians including nuclear parts. In addition China copies the weapons and sells them cheaper to Iran. An excellent article Hate of U.S. Keeps Weapons Trade Thriving discusses this in detail (especially in the recorded interviews included in the article) as well as America's failure to do anything about it. Center for Security Policy Senior Fellow Clare Lopez said that:
"It's both (economic and ideological) for both Russia and China. You can see how they both act at the United Nations Security Council in enabling Iran to get away with their nuclear weapons violations..
"The free liberal, Western-style democracies threaten their regimes, which are anything but. So anywhere in the world they can counter our style of governance, they're going to do it,"
"First of all we have to know what we stand for, from the top of our leadership, to the military on down to the citizen voter, we have to know what our principles are and that they're grounded in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the rights of human beings to live free and participate in their own governance...
"We have to understand that first for ourselves and then as best we can share that, not impose, and share that through education and bi-lateral relationships,..
She says the other half of the equation is to understand the enemy.
"I don't see our leadership being able to do either one of these things right now. They have lost complete sight of our history, traditions and value of those, and what made America, America. They've completely lost sight of that,"
According to WorldnetDaily ('Smart Bomb Technology MovingTo China' 8/12/03), the Magnequench factory, a factory in Indiana that produces 80 percentof the rare-earth permanent magnets used in the guidance systems is being moved to China. According to the article:
In terms of the raw materials used to make the permanent magnets, the country's foremost supplier (80 percent) of rare-earth materials (Molycorp) went bankrupt in 1998 and shut down after spending millions to remake its mining facilities following Bureau of Land Management complaints that it was endangering the desert-tortoise environment.
Until 1998, there were essentially two active mines in the world producing rare earths for the exotic magnets the Molycorp mine in Mountain Pass, Calif., and China's Baotou mine.
The year after the U.S. mine shutdown, China met 88 percent of the world demand for rare earths.
Under the Clinton administration China was given permanent most favored nation status regarding economic trade with the United States. One result of this is that they have less to lose if they are uncooperative with the United States. This may be one reason the Chinese (as of April 10th 2001) have been holding hostage the crew of an American surveillance plane that their pilot crashed into.
According to Worldnetdaily
Pakistan and China have been cooperating, and the reality is that India's military would be no match for a confrontation with China alone. With China and Pakistan working together against India, any confrontation would be formidable for India.
In a new report, India's Ministry of Defense says China is "enhancing connectivity with Pakistan through the territory of Jammu and Kashmir
, illegally occupied by China and Pakistan, and with other countries, will also have direct military implications for India."
